Pro bono publico

Working for things that mean something, working for others, is something I’ve done since my first days as a graphic artist. Pro bono is pro others, pro you and pro me. Such clients are as demanding as ‘real’ clients – but usually more rewarding.

My affinity with Buddhist thinking brings a steady flow of websites, logos and flyers to my desk. The brief is still there but the corporate look is different. It keeps my ‘designing’ fresh, other, less restricted by guidelines.

I’m convinced that a truly ethical way of doing business is the only business worth doing. Principles of honesty and integrity are frequently chanted  by business guru’s, but sadly, not put into practice, used merely as a branding tool. It always shows in the long term. Usually 5 years later than you think. But integrity always wins out. Always.
