Few things delight as much as working with small retailers. In the US they’re often called B&M’s (bricks and mortar), a term used to highlight their coveted, endearing qualities which set them apart from their competitively priced on-line brothers.
Many people who gladly post a link to the best on-line deals will still heap praise on their local store which they simply, couldn’t – ‘live without’. In an age where almost everyone buys something on-line, the relationship we have with our local delicatessen or ethnic food store can take on almost mythical proportions. Evermore we need to be reminded of the pleasure of buying something from a person we actually know and interact with on a regular basis.
